The Rushbrook Top

I bet you must have seen a lot of beautiful Rushbrook tops and dresses on social media by now. The Rushbroom is the latest pattern by the all.amazing.super.talented Laura of Titchy Threads. After designing several patterns mainly directed to boys she is now starting to work on girls patterns as well! I was so happy! Laura is one of the best pattern makers out there. She makes patterns of such an amazing quality (and by quality I mean well drafted pattern pieces, notches, good grading, great instructions and all the best sewing techniques, no shortcuts, no clumsy "techniques"). Well, today I am joining the Rushbrook Dress& Top pattern tour with the most plain & simple Rushbrook version you will ever see. The pattern offers several options for adding ruffles but my almost-9-year-old-acting-like-a-teenager-already girl didn't want any ruffles. No. Ruffles. She said. Not on the sleeves, not on the placket, not in the bottom of the bodice. No. Ruffles. And this mom obeyed. I think I got a bit really tired of making things for my kids only to be worn a couple of times because they weren't exactly what they liked... So, now I ask and let them choose. And my fun sewing days are over. ahaha

A Feliz Blouse

Hi! Today I am joining StraightGrain's Feliz Blog Tour. When An asked me to join this tour I was so, so happy! (Feliz means happy in Portuguese, how fun is that?) Feliz is such a great pattern, full of options! You *need* this one in your pattern stash. Besides, An knows how to make the best patterns, well drafted, so it's a perfect investment. (That's how I justify my pattern purchases with DH, "it's an investment dear, I can save all this money by buying this pattern and using it for so many years to make clothes for our kids", of course he doesn't realize I already have way more patterns than I'll be able to use in a life time... haha)

The Hally Dress

Oh, hey, I am blogging! :) (I miss blogging, I miss sewing every day...) Summer is still in full swing around here. Usually we have summery days until at least mid October. And sometimes those are the perfect summer days, with the best beach days. So, I am still sewing things for our summer wardrobe. This is my latest make. It's the Hally Casual Dress, one of the patterns available through One Thimble #16, a digital sewing magazine that was out a couple of days ago. I am joining today the official OT16 blog tour, follow along with us to get to know several new PDF patterns and be inspired!

A Pom Pom Beret and a Teddy Bear (OT15)

This little munchkin just turned 7 months. (Seven!) He seats straight, he eats soup and smashed fruit, he claps his hands, he sleeps all night, oh wait, not really... he is teething so if you have kids you know how it goes... He smiles a lot, and "talks" all the time, and loves to cuddle. And we love him. <3

As promised, here I am again today (wait, two blog posts in one day?! Am I back to the good ol' days?) showing off two more patterns from One Thimble issue 15This issue is jam packed of exclusive patterns, tutorials and articles. Love this digital sewing magazine!
